Tube Poem / Thinking a World

...this thought fired
     across a synapse bridge
neurotransmitted between
neuron 1 billion 1, and a neighbouring friend --
Hollering distance, then quiet.

This is my life, building bridges --
New friends, friends die.
Pathways lost.
Instead, I rely on firings --
Complex interactions whose contemporaneity
More lean towards a fulcrum
that ties, unbinds those around me
And yet...

those neurons choose their
neurotransmitters carefully.
