Tears of a Jonah (song)
Am I a jinx
Or is it coincidence
Am I a Jonah
Or was it regardless
Was it just pressure
Or was it my Karma?
I'd really like to know
If it was me.
Chorus:
But I loved him like a father
But he didn't really know
If only he were here today
There's so much I could show
It's only after he is gone
That I reveal my feelings
Please forgive me
I felt so foolish
But I loved you like a father
Like a father
Who could think
A book of poems could be
So harmful when read by me
Who could think
|That he could do it
Just sitting there
Behind the bonnet
How could he
Relax to deadly fumes
I wish I knew...
While I discarded
The book to disuse.
[chorus]
Everybody thought
"Just a silly old man,"
But I loved him as a father
"What a sweet old man
But how old fashioned."
Abusers of the tears of a Jonah.
[chorus]
But I could not shed a tear
Until now
Could not shed a tear
Until now
Kept it from my mind
Until now
Kept it from myself
Until now
[chorus]
Oh I loved him like a father
Yes I loved him like a father...
