NORTHAMPTON LITERATURE GROUP

2002 OPEN POETRY COMPETITION

Two 1st Prizes of £150 each
Two 2nd Prizes of £50 each
Two 3rd Prizes of £25 each
Highly Commended £10 each

There are two categories - Free Verse and Verse using Rhyme

Entry Fee is £3 per poem.

Closing Date is Friday 24th May 2002

Poems must not have been previously published or won an award in any other competition, and should be in English, printed or typed on one side of paper only. (Hand-written entries will be accepted as long as they are legible.)

Any number of poems may be submitted, but as poems cannot be returned, please keep copies.

Copyright remains with the author, but Northampton Literature Group reserves the right to reproduce winning poems.

Please make cheques or postal orders payable to Northampton Literature Group, and attach to your poem(s), along with the entry form below.    Note:  Your name must not appear on any poems.

The closing  date for the competition is 24th May 2002, and winners will be notified shortly afterwards.

Prizes will be presented and a reading of the winning poems will be given on Thursday 20th June 2002 at the Guildhall at 7.30pm during the Northampton Music & Arts Festival.
