Find out what the future holds for you...
| Please give me some quick information |
| I give tarot readings at your home at evenings and weekend. I
offer three types of readings, which cost £10, £15, and £20 (taking
approximately 15mins, 30 mins, and 45mins-1hr respectively for Single
Question (5 card), Quick Overview (Celtic Cross) and In-Depth
(Waterfall). The In-Depth spread can be recorded at no extra cost,
and emailed to you, or sent on CD for an extra £5. If you would prefer the tarot reading sent back to you across the internet, rather than an in-person reading, this costs £8 for single question, £12 for quick overview, and £15 for Waterfall, and is sent as a recording by email (or on CD for an extra £5). Telephone readings can also be done for the same cost (or by Skype) - email or call for further information, giving your contact details. Face-to-face Tarot readings need to be paid in advance by cash, and other readings can be paid in advance by Paypal (send to paypal@simonhuggins.com). If you have any questions, feel free to email me at tarot@simonhuggins.com |
| What experience do you have? |
| I first learned to read the tarot in my teens, my interest piqued by
my mother, who gave tarot readings for friends, family and also at
psychic fairs. She also had an interest in astrology, runes and
healing. I have been giving readings since this time (around 20 years), again with friends, in one-to-one consultations (online and face to face), and at fairs / festivals. I developed my own spread around 10 years ago to combat some of the difficulties I found getting in-depth readings for important life changes people were going through. The 'waterfall' spread evolved from this to become my most successful spread - reactions have been from awed amazement at the accuracy and precision of the information given, to an emotional awareness at being shown a difficult deep-seated problem, and possible opportunities for overcoming the problem. Of course, tarot can also be a bit of fun - If you want to get a 'glimpse of the future' then why not go for a quick-fire reading - it won't break the bank, and it's something different. |
| What can the tarot do for you? |
| Tarot has a long and varied tradition. As with the
lives that it helps to explore, each reader imbues his or her own
personality and techniques on
the interpretation of each spread, to give you a unique insight into
your possible future, and provide some guidance on life choices. Many readers see the tarot as a means of focusing psychic insight as a kind of 'gateway to the soul' for the subject of the spread. Indeed, the tarot we know today is derived from a number of astrological and mythical traditions, and is full of symbolism that makes it ideal for focusing. This means that any one card will have a different meaning every time it is read. Sometimes positive, sometimes negative. Sometimes representing a person, sometimes an event, sometimes a perception. And the meaning will alter according to how the card lies in a spread of cards, and how it interacts with all other cards around it. In this way. a tarot spread becomes a multi-faceted picture of the events that are important in the subject's life, and act as an indicator to what the subject should pay close attention to in order to help identify the overall pattern of his or her life, and to identify what events and influences to look out for. You will find that the possible combinations and interpretations increase hugely the bigger the spread, which means that larger spreads take some working through, but ultimately give you much deeper insight into the issues at hand. So if you are in need of guidance on your road ahead, or wish to gain some insight into the influences in your life, then a tarot reading can be a real help. |
| Is the tarot reliable? |
| You need to use common sense with a tarot reading. It is no
guarantee of a future - much of that is in your hands. However, it
does give you a good indicator of the influences ahead of you - the
helps and hindrances to watch out for as you make your journey into your
future - so it's up to you to keep these in mind as you go through your
life, and watch out for those influences. For this reason, it's a
good idea to listen to the recording of the tarot reading (if you choose
the Waterfall spread) from time-to-time to remind yourself of those
influences. In my opinion, the tarot is a great indicator of the influences in a subjects life. I do not believe that a person's life path is set out before them. It is a dynamic, evolving process - the whole of nature speaks this message to us clearly and emphatically. Thus, sources like the tarot can help us tap into this process and provide a deeper understanding than the surface issues would seem to indicate, but such an understanding does not predetermine what is to happen - it merely provides an understanding of the pivotal influences that guide our thoughts, our actions, and the possible consequences. Of course, this does not give specific answers to questions like "Will I be a millionaire?" but may help to understand the influences in your life that could make it possible to attain such a goal. It is very important that a subject is open to what a spread is saying. Often, a spread can seem bizarre or contradictory to a reader at first, but when explained to an open subject, the subject immediately understands what the spread is trying to communicate. In this way, the reader becomes a 'channel' for the tarot. |
| Is a reading better face-to-face? |
| In general, it's easier to talk about potentially difficult matters
face-to-face, but the tarot is not not restricted by the limitations of
distance. You are still getting an individual one - to - one reading, but if time / distance restraints are an obstacle, or you wish to 'try it out' before meeting face-to-face, then either Internet or voice readings are ideal. |

| How much does it cost and how do I pay? |
Prices are as follows:-
NB. These are costs for individual readings. Costs at fairs and festivals can vary. Transcripts If you would like a transcript (this gives an overview rather than a word-by-word description), please add an extra £10 - this will generally be emailed to you within a week, or posted for an additional £5. This is generally provided in PDF format. Let me know if you prefer it in another format (e.g. Word, HTML, Plain text). Travel Costs I live in the centre of Walthamstow, and work in the centre of London
during the week. Gift Readings Would you like to give someone a tarot reading as a gift? Choose whichever reading you wish and supply their name & address (or email address) as appropriate and indicate this is a gift, and include any message you would like sent (either by post or email). I'll pop this in a gift folder with your message, for the small price of £5. Please ensure the person receiving this gift is okay with receiving this as a gift - it's worth checking in advance. Additional Postal Costs Nb. postal costs are for mainland UK. Please add an additional £3 for Europe, and £5 for other countries. If you would like to know exactly the cost, please send me your requirements, and I'll send you back the price, which is guaranteed for 30 days. Tarot Parties / Multiple Readings Please note these prices are per reading. Discounts for multiple readings, or for tarot parties can be negotiated - generally an evening booking (from 7pm-10pm) costs £50 irrespective of the number of readings given - any recordings would be at additional cost. Contact Me / Postal Times If you wish to contact me for any reason prior to the reading, perhaps for reassurance about the manner of reading, or perhaps regarding how payments are made, please do not hesitate to do so by clicking here. Generally, emailed / posted readings should reach you within seven days of your order. However, Please allow 28 days for delivery of the completed reading in case of technical / postal difficulties or vacation. |
| How do you work? |
| I use my own tarot deck that I've worked with for years (it takes
some time to find the 'right' deck!) - I have used this for both private
readings, and also for readings at fairs / festivals etc.. It's best to find a quiet environment and a table or floor space of a reasonable size (say about 2ft x 2ft in size - plus somewhere to put a mug of tea / glass of water!) - interruptions (although sometimes inevitable in family life) are best kept to a minimum for best focus on what the spread is conveying to you. If you choose the Waterfall spread (or pay the additional fee), then I will take a digital recording of the reading, and email this to you - usually within a day of the reading - and optionally as a CD copy for additional cost. This is fairly unobtrusive as the recording software works from my phone - it gives excellent reproduction. I will spend a minute or so explaining how the reading works, and will shuffle the deck in that time. In face-to-face readings, I will offer you the deck to shuffle it too, and cut the deck, if you are comfortable doing this - You can do a professional shuffle, or jumble up all the cards on the table, or just leave it to me - your choice, everyone's different! I will then deal the cards out and usually spend a minute or two getting accustomed to the spread (usually giving a few 'hmmms' or 'ahhhs' just to tantalise you!) Once I've got a picture of what's going on in the spread, I will work through it with you, and explain the meanings of the cards in the context they are positioned. You are free to ask questions - and I may also ask questions - if you prefer not to answer, that's fine. Sometimes, a card can seem to have dual meanings, and the exact meaning can become clearer when talking it through. In a remote reading with no contact, such situations I would generally resolve by going over it for a bit longer. It's also quite good, and sometimes therapeutic to have this interaction, and can often be very beneficial when included with the information imparted by the reading. Once the reading has finished, I will normally give an overview of the reading, if time permits. I'll ask if you have any questions (you''re free to ask anything during the reading too!) and finish there. You can expect to receive your recording within 1-2 days of the reading by email, or up to 7 days for the CD (but allow 28 days in case of postal difficulties). In general, transcriptions are sent within 5-10 days after a reading, but again allow 28 days in case of postal difficulties if receiving it by post. |
| Can you do readings for other people? |
| You can ask for readings to be done for other people,
but please do indicate this in your request. Please be careful, as many people may not appreciate a tarot reading, and consider it an invasion of their privacy. It is always best to ask their permission first. YYou may find that a reading for somebody else will speak more of your reasons for wanting the spread to be done than of the person you are wanting to provide the reading for. This can be useful in its own right for exploring you relationship with that person. |
