Samples of my work
This page gives some samples of the work I have created some time ago. I will be expanding this over time as I gain access to older and newer applications...

| Red Tape Studio | Final year real-world project, implementing financial admin system for council-based recording studios in Sheffield using FoxPro 2.5 for DOS. The result was "Easy to use, time efficient and fulfilled Local Authority Requirements" and Red Tape were "absolutely delighted with Simon's work". | National Reference Book Front-End | National Reference Book Front-End
Program written in Delphi to replace a DOS-based commer-cial program
with no imminent upgrade on offer. Takes ex-isting DBASE files and makes
them useful! Index with 'Point & Click' referencing, Printing
routine, and SQL-based query ability for finding references that haven't
been pre-indexed.

| Chamber File Manager | Chamber File Manager Program written in
Delphi to replace the Windows File Man-ager. Allows access only to
pre-specified drives & filetypes. Easy front-end. Can Copy, Delete,
Rename, Create Direc-tory, change attributes, select multiple-files,
view file con-tents, and (through supervisor access) change associated
(encrypted) INI file settings interactively. Can also launch programs by
double-clicking on a file of an associated type, with optional password
protection to certain file types.

| Sears Version Control System | Sears Version Control System Works via DOS Batch, Pascal & QuickBasic programs that collate informa-tion from EPoS tills and feeds them back via a central Poller to an Rs6000 machine, which collates 300+ stores information and feeds this information to a PC. A DOS-based FoxPro program takes this information and stores it in Database form to give up-to-the minute system statistics, and versioning information. FoxPro for Windows front-end produces reports, warnings, and used for general interactive use. |
| Calls Database | Program written in Delphi for use by
various depts. within the Chamber for logging calls, tracking their
causes and out-comes, and time taken to respond to the calls. It is
possible to refer calls to other people. A periodic check informs the
users when new calls have been referred to them. For com-mon problem, it
is possible to type in a standard code, press F3 and have text replace
the code (as AutoText in Word). Template call types are also available.
