News from Helper Darlene Sullivan Compiled from Daily Variety -

LANCE HENRIKSEN - (Snow in "Snow") An animated feature "The Chosen One" will star the voices of Tim Curry,  Lance Henriksen, Traci Elizabeth Lords, Chris Sarandon, Laura Prepon, Debra Wilson and Danielle Fishel. The story concerns the misadventures of an average Joe from Iowa who is named the Messiah by the leader of a oddball cult and must travel to Kansas to receive a message from God that will save a rapidly disintegrating civilization. The film will consist entirely of 3-D computer-generated animation. 2/24/03

GUILLERMO del TORO - Having most recently directed "Blade II," del Toro will write and is attached to direct the new live-action and CGI feature version of "The Wind in the Willows" for the Walt Disney Co. He will write "Willows" with Matthew Robbins, with whom he collaborated on his 1977 horror film "Mimic." "Willows," which would be targeted toward a family viewership, appears an unusual movie for del Toro, who has directed more horror or dark action fare. Before "Willows," he is in production on his long-in-the-works "Hellboy." That picture, which is shooting in Prague, is scheduled for release next year. With Robbins he is signed to write and will direct the epic horror movie "At the Mountains of Madness" based on the H.P. Lovecraft novel. 2/28/03

PRAGUE - NEWS OF "HELLBOY - On Saturday, March 1, principal photography began on the John Hurt-Selma Blair film "Hell Boy." The 20-week shoot will include 11 weeks on soundstages and the remainder on locations around the city. The picture reunites some of the cast and crew of "Blade 2," which also shot in Prague. The $60 million film based on the same-name comic book series, is about a Nazi-created monster who becomes a force for good. "Hellboy" joins CBS young Hitler miniseries "The Origins of Evil" and the big-budget film "Van Helsing," now shooting, in what is shaping up to be one of Prague's busiest production years. 3/6/03

ROBERT PASTORELLI - (Vic Ramos in "Everything Is Everything" and Tony Perotta in "Impossible Silence) Early 90's sitcom star, "Murphy Brown" alumni Robert Pastorelli has landed a role in a new CBS project for next season. Pastorelli has joined the drama pilot "Violent Crime" as Frank Dimarino. Pastorelli most recently starred in the ABC drama "Cracker." Other credits include ABC television movie "South Pacific" and movie feature "Bait." 3/6/03

HOWARD GORDON - Congratulations on his nomination by the Producers Guild of America for The Norman Felton Producer of the Year Award in Episodic Television-Drama for the TV series "24." 3/2003.
