In a follow-up to recent news about Jamie Murray's new career
doing book
cover art, I've heard from the author of the books involved, P.N. Elrod.
The books concerned are Quincey Morris, Vampire" and "His Father's
Son."
Elrod says:
"Yes, it is true, Jamie did the wonderful cover art for the books and I'm
the one guilty of co-writing and writing them! Both are now in the stores
and if the reviews are half as good as Jamie's art, they'll hit the NYTimes
bestseller lists!
For all the fans of Myhr---I am currently finishing up a full blown novel
for Baen called "MYHR'S ADVENTURE IN HELL" which pretty much tells
all!
It's a cross between Dr. Who, Red Dwarf, the Marx Brothers, and magic with
Myhr smack in the middle of things and having a blast! He and his wizard
bud, Terrin, have been bounced to a medieval style planet where all the
magic is being sucked away to parts unknown --for evil reasons, of course.
It's up to Myhr to track down the source of the problem because despite his
protests everyone thinks HE'S the wizard! If he succeeds, it'll be a
Myhr-acle!
Jamie will also be doing the cover for this book! Hooray! No publishing
date yet, but sample chapters of this coming paperback will soon be posted
on the Baen Books website when it comes close to release time. You can
read samples of His Father's Son and Quincey there now! go to: www.baen.com."
Nan again. Always good to know that writers are earning their keep.and
sounds to me as though Myhr has won himself another well-deserved fan, ne?
Helper Tom Witt passes along this interesting factoid:
"Nan, you may have seen the news story about the American businessman who
paid Russia $20 million to go into space on one of their rockets. According
to a report from the Washington Post, another person interested in doing
the same thing (and shelling out the same amount of money) is Linda
Hamilton's ex-husband, James Cameron."
Nan again. Thanks, Tom. Is it too snide to hope that Cameron succeeds,
goes.and STAYS there?
Helper Pat Wittenbrink is trying to secure contact information
for Armin
Shimerman (preferably a land address) so that she can send to him letters
that her students have written. Pat explains, "Armin has written to my
class three different years. I really enjoy having my children writing to
Armin. I went to Las Vegas last summer and only missed seeing Armin at the
Hilton hotel by three days. He was there at the Star Trek exhibit signing
autographs. Is there any way to find an address that I could send these
letters to. My classes work so hard on my anti-drug project and they enjoy
writing to Armin. I would appreciate any help I could get.
Thanks so much,
Pat Wittenbrink
dondd50@hotmail.com"
If anyone has any sort of contact info for Armin, please relay to Pat so
that (minimally) she can determine if Armin is still interested in
receiving her students' letters.
The Sightings have already been posted, so I won't repeat them,
to spare
your no doubt already overstuffed mailboxes. But I'm curious. Did anybody
watch the claymation Celebrity Deathmatch between Linda Hamilton and
Sigorney Weaver tonight? If so.who won?
If it's news and has to do with Beauty and the Beast, please
think of the
Hotline and relay. We're all in this together, keeping the dream of Beauty
and the Beast alive however we can. Beast wishes, be well, and goodbye.
