Here's a welcome update from Helper/Correspondent Darlene Sullivan:

Hi All --

Linda Hamilton's TV movie, "Bailey's Mistake," March 17 on ABC, drew the
largest audience (over 13 million) for any movie on that night.

Ron Perlman's film, "Enemy at the Gates" drew $26,054,136 in its first ten
days in the US. Openings in Europe on March 17 varied: England ranked it
No.1 with $1.4 million; Paris No. 3 (84,000 tickets sold, no box office
total given); Germany-No. 7 with $587,000; and Austria-No. 7 with $60,000.

Mr. Perlman began shooting "Blade 2" in Prague on March 12. Directed by
Guillermo del Toro, this is the first US action movie to film entirely on
Prague soundstages and on location in the Czech republic. Wesley Snipes,
who stars in the film, is a co-producer.

Congratulations to Rick Baker for two more awards. At the black-tie gala
second annual Hollywood Makeup Artist and Hair Stylist Guild Awards held at
Century Plaza on March 17, Baker and his team won the awards for best
special makeup effects for "Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas."
Gail Ryan won best innovative hair styling award for her work on "Grinch."
On March 26, Baker and Ryan won Academy Awards for makeup and hair in
"Grinch."

Recent news about "Terminator 3." Director Jonathan Mostow ("Breakdown" and
"U-571") is negotiating to helm "T3" starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and
Edward Furlong. The film, which became viable after Schwarzenegger signed
on, has been mobilizing for the past two years and will begin production
after the actors strike is either settled or averted. "Daily Variety" says
Mostow has a daunting task to succeed James Cameron after his two
"Terminators" which are considered to be science fiction classics. "T3"
reportedly pits Schwarzenegger's cyborg against an indestructible female
robot. Darlene comments - Thus far, Linda Hamilton has not been mentioned
in any "T3" press releases.

Darlene Sullivan

Thanks, Darlene! Re Rick Baker, I believe this is his fifth Oscar. I
happened across an article online about him and his makeup chores for
Grinch. If you're interested, the URL is:
http://mrshowbiz.go.com/news/Todays_Stories/1124/baker112400.html.
The article has been there awhile; I assume it will stay another few weeks
more, so everyone who cares to read it can do so. Of course it was Rick
Baker who created the Vincent makeup.

Another bit of news I came up with was in regard to Joe Campanella (Dr.
Peter Alcott):

Wednesday March 28 2:42 AM ET
By Army Archerd, Daily Variety Senior Columnist

HOLLYWOOD (Variety) -

Another event is departing the Shrine: the annual Junior California
Orchestra Spectacular shifts to the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion May 16. Dr.
Ernst Katz will be celebrating his 64th year on the podium. Salomon Smith
Barney is hosting the event. Co-emcees of the musical program will include
Joseph Campanella, Connie Stevens and Alan Young. Carol Lawrence will help
'em salute the music of ``West Side Story.'' Also featured is the annual
celebrity ``Battle of the Batons.''

Helper Tom Witt offers this news:

If you go the Perlman Pages section of Classic Alliance of Beauty and the
Beast [URL on my "front page"-Nan], there is a reprint of a 1988 article
from an L.A. newspaper called "An Unlikely Sex Symbol." It's a really
interesting article about the deep appeal of Vincent. Also, in the Linda
Hamilton Online Website [www.lhow.com], if you click on "Work" and then
"Future Projects" there is a news report about a new film called "Agnes
MacVee" that Linda plans to work on.

Thanks, Tom! I appreciate your scanning the news on other websites and
passing it along.

>From Father's Fan Fare and Sally Newman, good news about well-known fan
writer Linda Mooney and her husband, Jim:

Sally says,

Great news: Linda Money says that they have just received word that the
doctors have found a heart for Jim. After being on a waiting list for 3
years, it looks as if Jim will "have a new chance at life". I'm sure many
of you remember & know Linda who is such a neat gal and who writes so
beautifully and has given us so many wonderful B&TB stories.

The next 3 months are especially critical - the heart transplant operation
and the recovery time & seeing if the body will accept the new heart.
Please keep both of them in your thoughts and send an encouraging note if
you can.

Kay Anderson added a couple of timely footnotes to Sally's news:

(1) Wanted to be sure everyone heard that Linda Mooney's husband, who has
been on the heart transplant list for over 3 years, received a donor heart
this past Sunday. I know they'll appreciate your thoughts and prayers for
healing and that rejection won't be a problem.
Kay

(2) I had an email from Linda this evening and Jim is doing well. She said
"a few bumps in the road which were to be expected." He'll be in the
hospital and rehab for 3 months in Houston. Linda and boys are making the
250 mile round trip 3 times a week.
Kay

Thanks for the update, Kay. I'm sure we'll all be keeping fingers and toes
crossed that all goes well.

No word yet on finding Pam Tuck. See, I SAID she was elusive! Nevertheless,
if you have contact info, please post it either to me or to Sandie Dapoz:
sdapoz@sandie.net.

Helper Kayla Rigney has some more zines she's in search of:

Spiral Staircase 5

If you have good news for Kayla, you can post her at gg@infomagic.com.
