Conzine Head Cathy Moran notes that time is getting short for conzine
submissions and reminds us all of the guidelines. It's hoped that the
conzine will have many new fine stories and poems and artwork to share with
us all.

Cathy says:

With only three weeks away until the April 12 deadline, we're getting down
to the wire for conzine submissions. This date must be firm, so please,
submit your work as soon as possible. If you have any questions, please
send them to: CatM412@home.com. If you need a reminder, here are the
guidelines. If you have any other questions about the con itself, please
visit our website at: www.onceuponatimeinnyc.org.

Helper Tom Witt has a couple of items for us this week. He's noted that on
"The Perlman Pages" of the CABB website, there's an interview that Ron
Perlman gave TV Guide about Beauty and the Beast back in 1988. Tom
comments, "One thing I didn't realize is that(According to the article) Ron
almost turned the role of Vincent down. When his agent first approached him
about it he had already done "Quest for Fire" and "The Name of the Rose"
and was not crazy about doing a role where he had to wear all sorts of
makeup again." On another topic, Tom adds, "Nan, I don't know if you saw
Linda Hamilton's movie Bailey's Mistake on ABC, But I was looking at a
Maine tourism website, and it said there really is a town by that name. As
was said in the movie, it really got it's name when a Captain Bailey made
an error plotting his course and ran his ship aground in l830. (Just an
interesting bit of trivia)."

Sure, Tom.and there really ARE tunnels under NYC! Just proves that many
fictions are based on a kernel of fact.. Thanks for the news anyway. Many
newbies may not have seen that article, so I'm glad it's posted somewhere,
where they can revisit the thrilling days of yesteryear when this was all
new and strange to us all.

Speaking of articles, Helper Regina Jansen found one about Linda's movie,
The Color of Courage. If you'd like to look at it, here's the URL:

Color Of Courage'.(Brief Article)

Thanks, Regina!

I don't usually pass along the Father's Fan Fare updates, figuring that
those interested are already getting them. However, one this last week is
for a special Helper of the hotline who's in a situation all too painfully
familiar to ME. I've received many informative and friendly posts from Oz
Fontecchio over the years, and now Sally Newman, wearing her Presider Over
Father's Fan Fare hat, says, "Those of you who know Oz Fontecchio might
want to send him a little encouragement. He's been having a difficult time
and now the job that he was promised is being withdrawn, so instead of
finally getting to the light at the end of his particular tunnel, there now
seems to be none.

Nan again. As one who was out of work and depending on assignments through
a temp agency that frequently didn't materialize for THREE YEARS (though
safely and steadily employed now), I can imagine how wretched it is to
think a job is set and then find out it isn't. Please send Oz some
encouraging words, as I intend to. Take heart, Oz-it DOES get better! If
not now, then eventually. I promise!

Last week I relayed a request from website designer and all-around
entrepreneur Sandie Dapoz, who's trying to get in contact with well-known
but highly mobile fan artist Pam Tuck.but I misunderstood Sandie's e-mail
address for anybody trying to pass along info. If you have contact info for
Pam, please post to Sandie at sdapoz@sandie.net. Nothing has come so far,
so apparently Pam is maintaining her reputation for being elusive.. As
before, any help with a phone number, address, or e-mail postbox for Pam
would be MOST appreciated.

Hotline and relay. We're all in this together, keeping the dream of Beauty
and the Beast alive however we can. Beast wishes, be well, and goodbye.
