Here's an item I thought might be of interest to Adrian Paul (Dimitri,
"Ashes, Ashes") fans:

Thursday November 30 2:00 AM ET
''Highlander'' star gets new action gig
By Michael Fleming
NEW YORK (Variety) - After six years of hunting heads in the syndicated
series ``Highlander,'' Adrian Paul will next be hunting intergalactic
fugitives.

Paul has signed a low-seven figure deal with Lions Gate that guarantees him
the starring role in a feature, and the starring role in a new syndicated
action series that will be shepherded by writer and producer Gil Grant,
whose syndication credits include ``Relic Hunter'' and ``The Cape.''

Lions Gate Television executive VP Kevin Beggs brought in syndication
veteran Grant to hatch an untitled series that has Paul playing an
intergalactic bounty hunter sent to earth after a jailbreak he
inadvertently prompted sent a swarm of bad guys to the planet. He and the
fugitives assume human form. The bounty hunter tries to fit in on a strange
planet while hunting his quarry.

Ira Bernstein (who ran Rysher's domestic distribution when that company did
``Highlander'') will distribute through Mercury Entertainment, and Dave
Fleming, Paul's manager at Gold-Miller, will also be a producer. The series
will be shopped at NATPE, the annual TV confab organized by the National
Assn. of Television Program Executives, in hopes of shooting 22 episodes in
Canada in May.

``We thought the best way to succeed was to find a star who's been
successful, particularly overseas, which was something borne out by how
well Tribune did by putting Kevin Sorbo into 'Andromeda,''' Beggs said.
``Adrian already has a core audience we can build on, especially overseas.
He's got the eye candy appeal that will make women stop and tune in, and
he's got the action appeal that men want. And our ability to create a deal
that includes films helped, because Adrian didn't want to be pigeonholed
into one genre.''

Paul is best known for logging six seasons as Duncan MacLeod in
``Highlander: The Series,'' about immortals who used swords to take the
heads of rivals. The series was an international hit, leading to a spinoff
picture that fared poorly. For Vancouver-based Lions Gate, primarily a film
distribution shingle that has recently ramped up TV activity, Paul was a
strong fit in its desire for a franchise action star who could flourish in
both films and a series.

Paul's in Budapest starring with Bai Ling and Bokeem Woodbine in the
Michael Oblowitz-directed scifi pic ``A Breed Apart'' He said he signed
because he liked the series concept and the edgy niche movies Lions Gate is
making, and one of which he'll star in next year. At the same time, Paul,
who directed several ``Highlander'' episodes, is also gearing up to direct
``Hirokin,'' a full length sci-fi film for hidef.com, using digital
technology.

Helper Tom Witt tells us, "I recently took another look at the Linda
Hamilton Online website. If you click on archives and then click on
articles and interviews, there is a rather extensive interview Linda gave
to the L.A. Times about Laura, the stage play she is appearing in, as well
as some discussion of her family and her career in general."

Thanks, Tom.

Relayed by Helper Sue Haley, this announcement from Lee (I don't know the
rest of her name): "I have an on-line auction. Jamie Murray was kind enough
to donate some art work to the auction. I wanted to get the word out to his
fans who might want to bid on some of the work. The URL is
http://GlobeListAuction.homestead.com.

I only have some of it up right now, I must work on the rest of the pages.
You can also contact me at angeliquecollins@hotmail.com

Thank you,
Lee
____
Nan again. Jamie's work is always worth the seeing, so I suggest you check
out Lee's website if only to view what's there.

And from the 20001 ConCom:

Hello from the Once Upon A Time In NYC: A Homecoming Convention Committee,

For those of you wondering how you might get to the con next summer, please
bear in mind that July is slow season for New York City. There are many
travel bargains to be had by plane, bus, train, or sharing a car ride with
a fellow fan. Amtrak trains offer excellent travel bargains if you have an
extra day or two to spare for travel. If you must fly in, consider flights
that arrive at early or late hours. There are always early arrivals who
would be glad to let you rest in their rooms until check in time.

The key is to be creative. Beauty and the Beast fans are the friendliest
people on the planet and those of you who've been to prior cons can rely on
your friends to assist. For our Convention Newbies (I'd say Virgins but
that's somewhat unlikely) Shelia Keith, will be introducing you to your new
friends and helping you put names together with faces.

We guarantee that you'll have a wonderful time and if you can't have fun
with Shelia around we'll take you into Roosevelt Hospital to check your
vital signs.
:->

I hope you're all feeling better than I am at the moment.

Getting a round trip ticket to New York is a wonderful Holiday Gift. Start
dropping hints NOW!!!

Don't forget your Tunnel Togs!!!

Please remember that this will be in New York City where we take pride in
and celebrate our diversity and we hope all fans come and participate and
celebrate the Work, the Artistry, and the Artists. And while we celebrate
the Masterpiece let us also Share Our Light with the Children of Hale House
as past conventions have done for so many other worthy causes.
