ndibble@fuse.net. To stop (or to begin)
receiving updates as e-mail, notify

Sorry about last week. On Sunday it got too late to do the update, so I put
it off until Monday, when I couldn't access the internet or the website.
Tuesday evening was otherwise spoken for, and by Wednesday, it seemed
better to wait until this weekend to do a fresh update.. I'm sure you've
all had similar things happen. Hope it didn't inconvenience anyone.
Incidentally, my ISP, Fuse, hasn't updated my total hits statistic since
September 22. I've asked them to correct the problem, whatever it may be.
But for those keeping track of how busy the Helpers' Network website is, I
figure it's creeping up on 180,000 total hits at this point. Still lively,
although at this point we must all take this on faith.

Good news! Terrie Milliman posted to say that the CABB website is back up,
although slimmed down. She says, "Could you please let the people on your
mailing list know that CABB is back, albeit much smaller for the time
being. I'm working hard to get everything back up though. We lost
all
that was on the site when rtchaos/Aurea went down. sigh. The URL is still:
http://www.rtchaos.com/cabb/cabb.html."
Thanks for this good news, Terrie. And I have a favor to ask: could someone
with the 2001 NYC ConCom please send, in a single post, the dates (and, if
available, the name/phone number of the hotel) of next summer's convention?
I'll post it on my front page, with a link to the con website-is that up
and running again too? Please freshen my remembrance, so I can be sure I'm
conveying the freshest and most accurate information.

Helper Avril Bowles has kindly sent me a picture of Roy Dotrice in his role
in Madigan Men. I'll post it on the website. Thanks, Avril!

And in an update from last time, Sue Haley had forwarded to me the notice
of a lady who'd made a Vincent vest and cloak and was now selling it on
eBay. I now have pictures of the ensemble, and it's handsome. The original
post said that you can find it (assuming it's still available) by going to
eBay, then entering Keywords: Beauty & Beast {Vincent}costume
Dblt.+Cape.
I've posted the pictures Sue just sent on the Helpers' Network website.
Thanks, Sue!

Helpers Stephanie Wiltse and Judy Adams both sent me this further profile
to Beah Richards, our Narcissa, who recently died. Thanks to both Stephanie
and Judy for forwarding this clip on so we all could see it.
Town Remembers Beah Richards
Updated 6:02 PM ET October 9, 2000
VICKSBURG, Miss. (AP) - Beah Richards' hometown held a memorial service to
remember the late actress for her Hollywood successes and personal victories.
More than 200 people attended the service over the weekend for Richards,
who died last month of emphysema just weeks after winning an Emmy for a
guest appearance on the ABC drama ";The Practice."; She had also won
an
Emmy in 1988 for an appearance on CBS' "Frank's Place."
After a 50-year career in movies, Richards returned to her Vicksburg
hometown this spring to live with her niece, Sherry Fisher.
She told me, "Angel, when I die don't have any sad celebrations for me
because I have lived my life, and don't wear all that black," Fisher
recalled Saturday.
Richards gained an Academy Award nomination for best supporting actress for
her role in ";Guess Who's Coming To Dinner."
Her film credits also include "In the Heat of the Night," ";Hurry
Sundown,"
"Drugstore Cowboy," and "Beloved."

Helper Nicole notes that Joe Campanella, who played Dr. Peter Alcott in
B&B, is going to be a regular on the new show "That's Life" (with
Ellen
Burstyn and Paul Sorvino). Thanks, Nicole! Check and see if she's right.
And other B&B people may well show up in new and returning series, and not
have the fact mentioned in the TV Guide. If you see any, relay on and I'll
take note of it in future updates.

From Sally Newman and Father's Fan Fare comes good news. Sally says,
"[British fan] Albert Prince has had his surgery and seems to be doing
better. He starts radiation in about 2 weeks. He wanted me to thank all of
you who were kind enough to send cards and notes. We're glad that the
operation went well."

I have twice posted NovTek to determine the status/price and ordering info
for the con tapes from last summer's con. They have not gotten back to me
about it thus far. I will phone this next week and see if I can get the
information that way.
