My comment, last week, on Linda Hamilton's underpublicized divorce from
James Cameron prompted a lot of helpful mail, including posts from Ben
Bock, Lucy Green, Cathy Whiting, Clairyce Gaston, Jackie Newman, and Sandie
Whited. Tom Witt sent the most definitive information:

"In your August 27 Helper's Hotline, you mentioned that you had never seen
anything in the news saying that Linda Hamilton and James Cameron were
actually divorced. Well, I recently finished reading a new biography of
James Cameron that was just published this spring. It's written by a
veteran Hollywood reporter named Marc Shapiro. According to the book, Linda
filed for divorce in Los Angeles on December 16, 1998. The divorce became
official in mid-1999, with Linda having primary custody of the couple's
daughter Josephine. Although it didn't get a lot of news coverage,
apparently Linda and James Cameron have been divorced since the middle of
last year. I hope this information is helpful."

And Ben Bock, Cathy Whiting, Jackie Newman, and Clairyce Gaston added the
information that on June 4, 2000, Cameron married his current paramour,
Suzy Amis. So I guess true love will somehow find a way..

I thank all these helpers who helped to set the record straight.
