Roy Dotrice has just won the Tony for Best Featured Actor in a Play. He
made a brief, dignified speech ending with "God bless America." How
wonderful for him! And that's not the only award he's won for the role of
scruffy pig farmer Phil Hogan. Helper Lisa Howard Bock sent on this news
(thanks, Lisa!):

Broadway.com Announces Winners of Its First Annual Audience Awards
'The Wild Party' Tops With Four Awards, 'The Music Man,' 'Kiss Me Kate' &
'The Real Thing' Score With Two Awards Each
NEW YORK, June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Broadway.com, a subsidiary of
Hollywood.com, today announced the winners of the first annual Broadway.com
Audience Awards. As the name of the award states, all winners were selected
by theater fans and not by critics or producers.
In a total of 24 separate categories, fans picked their favorites from the
1999-2000 theatrical season, covering both on Broadway and off.
Broadway.com provided a list of suggested nominees in each category, and
allowed people to submit their own entries during the one week voting
period (May 19 - 26). Unlike other theater awards (such as the Tonys, which
will be handed out this Sunday night), every performer and every production
was eligible to win a Broadway.com Audience Award.
In fact, several Audience Award winners did not even receive Tony
nominations this year, including Olympia Dukakis, Ruth Williamson and Tony
Vincent. Also, Broadway.com introduced several categories traditionally
overlooked by the Tony Awards, such as Favorite Replacement, Favorite
Breakthrough Performance and Favorite Long-Running Broadway Show.
"Broadway.com was created to celebrate theater -- both on Broadway and
off," said Laurie Silvers, president of Broadway.com. "The
Broadway.com
Audience Awards enable theater fans to recognize and honor their favorite
shows and performers. We are pleased to salute the winners of the first
annual Broadway.com Audience Awards, who represent some of the biggest
talents and brightest lights along the Great White Way."

On June 1, the scifiwire news service had this item:
Six-Hour T2 DVD Due
T2--The Ultimate Edition DVD will hold six hours of programming centered on
James Cameron's 1991 hit film Terminator 2: Judgment Day, according to The
Hollywood Reporter.
The DVD, from Artisan Entertainment, is slated for a July 25 release.
The DVD will make use of DVD-18 technology, which allows producers to put
more programming on a single disc. The DVD will feature the full- length
movie, with 15 minutes of footage cut from the theatrical release but added
in for cable, and a second version of the film, with five minutes of
never-before-seen footage, the trade paper reported.
The DVD, which will retail for $39.98, will also include a Making of
Terminator 2: Judgment Day featurette; T2: More Than Meets the Eye, with
scenes cut from the film; and T2-3D: Breaking the Screen Barrier, about the
Universal Studios theme park rides based on the film. The DVD will also
feature audio commentary by director Cameron and star Arnold Schwarzenegger.
_________
I expect some of the added footage will prominently feature Linda Hamilton,
since at the time it was reported that several of her scenes were cut or
shortened in the film as released. So those with DVD players may want to
pick up this highly collectable item.

Speaking of collectibles, here's the newest auction from the LA2K ConCom:
Dear Beauty and the Beast Fans:
The convention is just little over a month away now and the auctions are
winding down. Hey, we've gotta save some things for the celebrity auctions
at the con! (which, btw, will be held both Friday and Saturday nights this
year),
This week brings only one auction, which is a Dutch Auction. We have four
copies each of the 1990 and 1991 Antioch calendars, still in the original
shrink wrap. The calendars will only be sold in pairs so winning bidders
will receive both calendars.
The ebay link is:

Thank you and happy bidding!

Pat Wittenbrink, who is First Fandom and all-around good folks, is trying

has contact information for Armin, so that something could be mailed to
him, please drop a post to Pat at dondd50@hotmail.com.
