Hi All --
From Daily Variety:::
UPN may bow midseason the comedy "As If" in "Roswell's Tuesday slot sometime in March or April - bumping "Roswell" repeats. (Not from Variety - a note to B&B fans: On November 15, both the British sit-com "As If" and "Beauty and the Beast" were mentioned in development for UPN. A sit-com can be cast and produced much faster than an hour-long drama, much less one as complex as B&B. Fans seeing "As If" on the fast track, should not believe that negotiations for B&B are also concluded.
The B&B series has many contractual matters, production elements and casting to work out and there is no certainty at this point that it will ever go into production.)
LINDA HAMILTON -- Linda Hamilton accepted a Supporting Actress Award for "Skeletons in the Closet" at a star studded 2001 Video Premiere Awards ceremony in Hollywood. Movies made for video or that go directly to video instead of to the big screen are no longer an embarrassment to the studios or the stars. Video Premieres has become a $1.2 billion industry of movies made for video.
RON PERLMAN -- "Boys on the Run," starring Ron Perlman, was marketed for foreign distribution this fall at MIFED 2001. Film tells the story of two teenage boys who escape from a juvenile detention facility and meet up with a beautiful girl.
HOWARD GORDON -- The Sci-Fi Channel has acquired off-network rights to Howard Gordon's short-lived series "Strange World." Executive produced and written by Howard Gordon, the one-hour drama originally premiered on ABC in March 1999 but was pulled after three showings when it failed to attract viewers. Sci Fi plans to air all 13 episodes of the series, including 10 that have never been broadcast. The series stars Tim Guinee ("Blade") as a Gulf War veteran who is fighting a debilitating degenerative disease. The series will join Sci-Fi's Friday lineup beginning Feb. 8 alongside new episodes of Sci Fi's original series "The Chronicle" and "Lexx." Gordon's writing for current TV shows include the Fox hit "24," "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "The X-Files."
RICK BAKER -- The veteran f/x artist has agreed to tackle the makeup f/x efforts for "The Incredible Hulk." He is currently working on the alien sequel "Men in Black 2." This will dispel rumors that "Hulk" will be a computer animated picture. Casting is still under way and "Hulk" is expected in theaters in summer 2003.
