Introduction of major character Diana Bennett

Special Notes / Trivia

Diana Bennett was working on a case involving 10 year old Sally Rogers, a kidnapping victim
Diana lives on the 5th floor of her apartment building
The book Vincent took from Catherine's table was "Great Expectations"
Vincent's next-to-last line of his eulogy are also the first words he spoke to Catherine.
You may recognize Michael Pniewski from the episode "Beast Within" where he played Frank DiCorsia, the union investigator
The doll that Diana discovers in Catherine's apartment is different from the doll in the childhood dream sequence from "A Happy Life"
There is an in-joke in this episode.  When the police detective is telling Joe about Diana Bennett for the first time, he asks, "Remember the Beserra Case?"  This is an obvious reference to Margaret Beserra, the individual responsible for applying Vincent's make-up each week
A great many loopholes exist in this episode which lead me to believe that Catherine Chandler is not dead.  For starters, the detective who tells Joe about Diana Bennett seemed awfully reluctant to discuss the details of the case, as if he were holding back information.  Also, the autopsy doctor answered Joe's inquiry with "I'm not supposed to be talking to you, Maxwell."  Why not??  Also, when Diana tells Joe what she is doing at the hospital, she answers "Working.", but that does not necessarily mean on the Chandler case.  She could have been attending the autopsy of Sally Rogers or her abductor.  She also speaks of an autopsy "report", but she never says a thing about having seen Catherine's body or been present during the procedure.
Finally, we never see Catherine's body in the casket.  All of this writing is so open-ended that there is good reason to believe it was deliberate.
