APOLOGY

For everybody who has missed the updates to this web site for the last ten months, my heartfelt apologies. Unfortunately, I (Simon Huggins) have had a number of work and family issues, and the site has had to take a back seat for a while. Gwen has received quite a few communications asking what's been happening, so i'm making a concerted effort to get things back on track again.

A message from Gwen:

Simon Huggins who kindly puts together this web site & myself, who gives him the info, have been unable in the last few months to update it. This problem has now been rectified, and we hope you will visit it often and tell others about it.
Thank you, Gwen Lord - England.

See the Changes section for latest updates to the web site.

A MESSAGE FROM GWEN...

Dear Fellow B&B Fans

With Channel 5 having the good sense & wisdom to air all the episodes of Beauty & The Beast from Feb 2nd 1998 until all the episodes have been seen, in the next couple of months, so, those fans from 1989 when it was first aired and loved, to this new generation of fans, can all share the joy, love, compassions, tolerance, and kindness that each episode gives us. Following the showing daily, C5 text now has much info, and the result has been over five hundred letters to me, wanting more information on the fan club, helper's Network UK, fanzines, lettersines, newsletters, and conventions. I've been working flat out to get the replies to everyone as fast as possible, even within hours of receiving them. May I take this opportunity to thank everyone who has written to me, and also Simon Huggins who set up the Web Site on my behalf, and was exceedingly kind to do this. I myself do not have a computer - I'm all very primitive - but Simon keeps me informed & i'm thrilled.

Now you have found me, please support us all who are keeping the dream alive - The best way you can do this is write & tell Republic Pictures (Entertainment Inc) how much you are enjoying the re-runs. Click here for their address - and ask them where our T.V. movie is! Also letters to Channel 5 would be most welcome.

Do support Helper's Network UK, and Chatterbox Letterzine & The British Fan Club, both run by Rita Davies. Perlman's Progress is run by Pat Paone, The Roy Dotrice Fan Association is run by Gwen Lord. Then in May, there is a British mini-convention, and on August 1st and 2nd in Lincoln, Lincolnshire, England, Roy Dotrice (Father) is having his second REUNION, where his fans can meet him informally, in a weekend of fun and enjoyment. All details of addresses and fess - drop me a line - either via this web-site by e:Mail or by post. See Contacts for addresses.

Thank you - GWEN LORD

In 1988 and 1989 when Beauty & The Beast first came into our lives, so came a huge amount of exclusive and well-made merchandise. Now this area is gone, but the talent & goods & those who produced them are still there. I want to contact as many of these people as possible, & I offer them FREE adverts i nthe Helpers Network UK newsletters, in the issue May, August, November, February. Each of these issues go out to 500 homes worldwide. These adverts can also be put FREE on our internet site for the whole world to see if you wish.

MEET FATHER .... ON VIDEO !!!

Didn't get to meet and mingle socially with Roy Dotrice, the actor who played Father in Beauty & The Beast, at the fun-filled weekend, on August 1st and 2nd 1998 in the medieval city of Lincoln in Lincolnshire, England???

Roy's Fan Association held their second 'Reunion' by popular demand, after their first one on June 10th 1995 was such a success in London. Members AND Non-Members joined in a packed timetable of events, with Dealer's Tables, Q&A, Panel Games, a Banquet Meal, dancing and even a tour of the magnificent 900 year old Cathedral and Norman Castle next to the 'Reunion' Hotel, with a costumed guide, and much more...

Actually, whether you attended or not, the video of the experience is something else, capturing not only the jocularity and great personality of Roy himself, showing his great personable nature, but also the easy atmosphere that all enjoyed at the event.

A message from Roy Dotrice (via Gwen Lord and The Roy Dotrice Fan Association)

Dearest Friends,

My heart goes out to all those who have suffered so dreadfully during the
horrendous events of the past week.

Yet I have never felt more proud of America and Americans.

How can we not be proud of the magnificent sacrifices made by firefighters,
police and rescue workers?

Heroes everyone!

May God Bless You All,
Roy Dotrice
