If creativity is not your thing, or trying to fill a space is stumping you, then you can always try the AutoFill function, which will attempt to fill the remaining spaces on the grid from the dictionary. You can ignore all the options if you like and tell the computer to do its thing. When you have a solution that you like, you can copy it to the grid at the click of a button, or ignore the suggestions.
You can customize how the computer fills the puzzle in a number of ways. You can tell it to put a preference on filling longer or shorter words (starting from longer words can sometimes make it easier to fill around it), have a preference to words that alternate vowels and consonants (these tend to be easier for puzzlers to get), or have a bias on certain letters (typically you would want the computer to steer away from unusual letters like X, V, and Q as much as possible).
Finally, if you give up trying to fill the space with letters, you can fill all remaining spaces with outs instead, at the click of a button.
