QuickCup - Change History
This page lists the latest changes to QuickCup, and also the changes made to
each successive version, in reverse chronological order.
It also shows a list of proposed changes to the system. Note these are
subject to change, as is the projected timetable given.
QuickCup - Version 2.0
Version 2.0 - Tuesday 7th May 2002
- New edit box in settings for location of downloaded SDK documentation
- New help menu to give quick access to key pages in SDK documentation
- Auto-configuration of JDK and JDK documentation location when first launch
QuickCup
- Option to select most up-to-date or any other auto-detected JDK
installations on your computer.
- Expanded help to bring up-to-date, including information on downloading

- If new project saved, filename now turns to black
- Allow use of clipboard shortcuts within Settings tab

- Cut, Copy, Paste etc. options on Edit menu
- Find / Replace options on Edit menu
- FTP facility to copy java project to web site
- FTP details stored with project file
- Create JAR file to package project details
- Create JAR file to package directory contents
- Extract files from JAR file into project directory
- Option to Remove class files from project directory
- Multiple copies can now be printed
- Basic on-line help now added - press F1 key
- Link to web site from Help menu
- Project and linked file names, and base JDK path show as red text in text
boxes when they don't exist
- Deprecation checking now optional when compiling
- Menu option for running from web page added
QuickCup - Version 1.2

- Deprecation option now in force on javac compiler
QuickCup - Version 1.1
Version 1.1 - Wednesday 3rd October 2001
Fixes a few bugs, adds menu options:-
- Applications now compile correctly - bug with how javac called
- Bug fixed where if made changes and opened another project without saving, would ask if you want to save
changes twice and not open files from newly opened project.
- Menu added
- Print facility added, printing project details or source code depending on tab being viewed at time of
printing.
- Can now access Open Project/File, Close File and Save All from menu
- New Project / File can now be accessed from File menu
- Menu option to quit QuickCup. Shortcut Ctrl+Alt+X
- Can choose to save just currently selected source file, project or all from File menu rather than
prior 'catch-all' method.
- Menu options for compile main and compile current
- Run Applet / Application menu options with shortcuts
- Can close currently selected source file from menu or using Ctrl+F4
- Can close all open files at once
- Can close project to show only blank details
- If source file selected, can go to a given line no.
- Useful when debugging from compiler errors.
- Help menu for access to readme/copyright/about info
- Link to web site from about text.
- Defocus console after compilation and appletviewer
- Console window can be brought forward using new toolbar button
- Default Console position now set to be in top-left hand corner
- QJP (Project) files can now be opened from Explorer
- Clicking on Main HTML/Java files registered as change
- When compile/run, checks executable exists first now
QuickCup - Version 1.0
Version 1.0 - Sunday 16th September 2001
Release version. Features include:-
- Project files creation, with AutoLoad facility
- Project name and details facility
- Java environment details can be set
- Source files can be linked to project
- Basic editor facilities for source code editing
- HTML file editing / launching for Applet creation
- Java Compiler launch button
- Applet viewer launch button
- Java Application launch button
- Save button saves project file and all source files
- Launch project using command line parameter
QuickCup - Planned Future
Releases
Version 1.4 - Planned release: end of January 2002
- Duplicate project facility - dialog to change filename stem of all files of same name but differing exts
or alternatively, skip file altogether
- Colour Picker - can return new Color(r,g,b) or hex
- Allow pictures to be displayable in project
- Allow sounds/music to be playable in project
- Applet embed into HTML code generator wizard
- Further help, giving basic functional info.
- MRU (Most-Recently Used) list for projects
- Basic context highlighting on HTML and Java files
Version 1.5 - Planned release: end of February 2002
- FTP upload test facility to see if will work
- More Complex Project Options from dialog box
- Option to save windows size/position + console position with project file.
- Basic context-sensitive help (linked to JDK docn) - global HTML help indexing facility to help with this
- use modified lexicon from wordpuzzle pro, where termination flag on node links it to one of a list
of filenames.
- Include context highlighting in printouts
Version 1.6 - Planned release: end of May 2002
