The following is a brief list of some of the intended additions and changes for future versions:-
Script Wizard – e.g. to produces standard types of script such as logging on, FTP etc.
Facility to read environment variables and registry values using macro command
WHILE and REPEAT and LOOP (unconditional) loops with BREAK and CONTINUE commands.
Command to freeze script (make it read-only) so that it cannot be changed once run
Timed GOTO, where GOTO triggered either once or at a regular interval for a given date / time – this allows for scheduled jobs
File manipulation commands such as DELETE, Make Directory, Remove Directory, Copy File, Open File, Close File, Write To File, Read From File.
Further FTP facilities such as Delete, Create Directory, Remove Directory, List, and NOOP
Database manipulation commands via DAO
Debugging facilities such as variable watch / change / save / load, breakpoints, stepping, breaking, and GOTO error line. Also list of triggers to watch / change / save / load.
Context-sensitive help on certain commands
‘Record’ option to capture a list of commands based on actions performed during a ‘live’ telnet session to be reproduced – akin to the ‘macro record’ facilities found in many Microsoft™ products.
Create / destroy buttons on the screen that trigger a certain event (by script label)
Create a list of standard script files which can be run with a few keystrokes
Amend colour background for MONOCHROME mode
Option to turn on/off FTP and SMTP logging
Auto-sizing of font / spacing when change size of window
Keyboard mapping to customize emulation further
Make ArcTel an ActiveX / COM server so that it can be incorporated into and controlled from other applications, including web pages
Scrollback buffer
Print the terminal / scrollback buffer / log / script
Further emulation facilities
